I've just out some of them here but they have them all on their website! #fullyfunded #fullyfundedgrad #harvard #harvarduniversity #phd
I found a fully funded master's of arts in English I found a fully funded master's of arts in English for you!! This one covers tuition and offers a $20k graduate teaching assitantship. This was a quick search so if you're looking for one in a specific state or region (or for a stipend that doesn't require teaching), let me know and I'll look for that too! x Brittany #fullyfundedmasters #fullyfundedgradschool #mastersdegree #mastersofenglish
Princeton will pay you $50k... To go to grad scho Princeton will pay you $50k... To go to grad school!! They offer this to everyone pursuing their MPA, MPP, or Ph.D in the public affairs/international affairs department. they will also cover health insurance for the length of the program. I know that going to grad school and/or pursuing a Ph.D can seem like an unwise choice financially. and I definitely don't think it's required for every degree. but if it's what you want or need to do? you have options. while the work I do at Everyday Historian goes above and beyond this, I use my TikTok account to find and share these free and fully-funded programs. so follow along to find out about future ones! and if there's a certain program you'd like for me to look out for, just let me know here in the comments. x Brittany @everydayhistorian on YouTube and elsewhere @youreverydayhistorian on IG everydayhistorian.com #princeton #fullyfunded #gradschool #mastersdegree #publicpolicy

This place will make you believe... In forest nym This place will make you believe... In forest nymphs, Greek myths, and other faerie tales. ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ Agia Kori is worth visiting for the waterfalls if nothing else. For about 20 minutes, I had the whole natural swimming pool to myself while others in my tour group when to check out the Agia Kori church, cave, and spring. There are so many stories about this place... So until and unless we meet in person, I'll let you find your favorite by searching and reading online. I've been so pleasantly surprised by everywhere I've visited in and near Mount Olympus. I knew it would be beautiful, of course. I love mountains, creeks, rivers, and waterfalls. But the Agia Kori Waterfalls are just so special. The photos online don't do it justice, either. If you want the details on how I got there from Thessaloniki, just comment KORI1 and I'll send them over. Or if you want to learn more about the tours I'm hosting for history lovers? Comment TOURS and I'll share the ones enrolling right now. x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
This is a question... That I've been thinking abo This is a question... That I've been thinking about a LOT over this past year. โ€ข What is a historian? โ€ข Who gets to decide whether or not another person is a historian? โ€ข Do you really need formal training to be a historian? โ€ข Can you only call yourself a historian once you've earned a certain degree? โ€ข And what "counts" as far as writing and sharing about history? I'm so excited to explore this more. I really dug into it in the article I just published to my Substack account. Just comment SUB1 and I'll send you the link. x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
stop scrolling for just a sec... and you'll be re stop scrolling for just a sec... and you'll be rewarded with a beautiful desert sunset right next to Saguaro National Park in Tucson, Arizona. ๐ŸŒต๐Ÿœ I spend a lot of time learning and researching history about different sites across Europe, and it's easy to get drawn in by the beauty of these places. But where I live is very pretty, too. I hope that, wherever you are, you can see that your dream life is the one you're already living right here and right now. And since we never know how many days we have left in this life, I hope you feel the urgency to get out and FULLY live every moment of it. Whether that's pursuing a dream, going back to school, moving somewhere else, or just spending more of your time doing what you really want to do. But don't lose the moments that happen between now and then - the ones between here and where you want to be. x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
Fashion, makeup, decor... They're all a form of a Fashion, makeup, decor... They're all a form of art and self-expression, and I'd NEVER tell someone not to have or do those things. But I do think they can end up being harmful. If learning in and of itself becomes an aesthetic, it's something that not everyone can or will do. And I don't want to live in a world where that's so. So I'm hoping m little corner of the internet here can be a place where we fight against it JUST being that. I want for Chaucer to be read in trailer parks. I want to see people geeking out over Latin and Greek in the inner cities. Tweed jackets and maryjane shoes are lovely, but not required. Comment SUB1 to read the full article on my Substack. x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
I'm all for romanticizing your life IF... That me I'm all for romanticizing your life IF... That means falling in love with the life you already have, and working towards making you and your life better. But I often find (especially in the travel space, which is where I spend a lot of time) that there's a constant pressure to make everything look prettier and more polished than it really is in real life. When I was first thinking about this account, I chose the name Everyday Historian because I wanted to highlight how ANYONE could make a life and a living out of their love for history. It's the journey I'm on myself and I'm happy to share how it goes as I learn. But the other part of that is the "everyday" bit. We often follow people because we find their content to be aspirational or inspirational. Sometimes, we follow someone because they're funny or motivational. My hope is that you'll follow me and my work for my my words and the worth of what I contribute. I love the aesthetic stuff too, FOR SURE. I mean I get the privilege of traveling to sone of the prettiest places in the world!! But don't let yourself fall into the trap of thibking that your life needs to look like someone else's, in order to have something that you want. Reverse engineer what they did and what they're doing, for sure. But don't lose yourself in the act of romanticizing your life. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป x Brittany P.S. if you're seeing this on Facebook or YouTube, you can follow my history thoughts and musings on Instagram at @youreverydayhistorian
then just "seeing" a place... isn't really what y then just "seeing" a place... isn't really what you're looking for. you want to do more than just visit when you travel. you want to FEEL it. EXPERIENCE it. take time wandering the ruins, looking for stories that call out to you. when I was at the Delphi archaelogical site just a month ago, I was so deeply moved by seeing some of the earliest known musical notation carved into stone. how incredible is it that I was able to go into Spotify, and hear a version of what couls have been played in that VERY spot - thousands of years before I existed?! look up the "Delphic Hymns" if you want to listen. they truly are beautiful. to me, things like travel, history, music and storytelling aren't separate at all. they're inextricably linked. they're all different lenses we use to understand who we are as humans. if you're into this kind of travel, hiii let's be friends! you can comment FULL1 to get my full itinerary for this trip. or, comment TOURS to get on my VIP list to be the first to know about them when they go live! x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
has a love for learning... become an aesthetic? has a love for learning... become an aesthetic? and if so, is that a bad thing? a good thing? neutral? it's something I've been thinking about a LOT over this past year. I'm drawn to beautiful things in pretty places. it's one of the reasons I love traveling so much. but as the humanities are more and more under attack, and as my fellow Americans second-guess degrees in subjects like history and music, I'm starting to think it's important to show the less pretty and polished side of learning too. I'm so excited to see a movement of more everyday historians, everyday musicians, everyday artists, etc. how about you? x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
I'm on a personal pilgrimage... There's a part of I'm on a personal pilgrimage... There's a part of me that has always wanted to study history. Partially because I want to better understand the early church, and because so much of what happens today us affected by what happened in the past. When I was younger, I studied music as a voice major, and the history was part of what drew me in. Sightreading music is like being in a participatory time capsule. You can hear and read and sing EXACTLY what the people of that day were hearing, feeling, and experiencing. Whenever I sing during corporate worship, I'm overwhelmed by the fact that I'm not only worshipping with everyone living on the earth at this time, which is already incredible. But I think of the millions who have gone before me - who continuously sing, "Holy! Holy! Holy!" in Heaven today and on into eternity. I've been stopping at several beautiful churches and cathedrals - picturing what the lives of those everyday believers looked like hundreds of years ago. This brings me to the Cathedral in Cologne, Germany. The first foundation stones were played in 1248 - during the High Middle Ages. Scholasticism was taking hold. Universities and cathedrals were maturing. People were studying the teaching of Aristotle, alongside Augustine, and scripture. Christians weren't just hearing, believing, and then that's it. They were becoming true Bereans... seeing for themselves what the truth is. This is also in the beginning of the seventh crusade, lead by Louis IX of France. It's hard to imagine daily life at that time. It might have felt very chaotic and uncertain. Unless you were in a rural enough area to not know as quickly what was happening. This is an absolutely stunning cathedral, and it isn't even the only one here. If you're interested in the middle ages, and/or the effect of the Protestant Reformation on Europe, you've gotta go to Cologne, Germany (Kรถln). #travelgermany #churchesandcathedrals #middleages
Over these past couple of years, I've been on a ma Over these past couple of years, I've been on a major debt-paying journey. And I'm sooo so so incredibly proud of myself for paying off as much as I have so far! But I'm still not where I need to be yet to pursue a graduate degree. I've been wanting a master's in history for a while now, but it's financially responsible for me to do so yet. And now I'm wondering...is it really even necessary? The more I learn, the more opportunities I see for historians from all different education levels and walks of life. I've learned so much about my home in the American Southwest from people of all educational backgrounds. And I know this might sound sacrilegious to say, but some of them don't even have a high school diploma. So what does that mean? It means that a degree isn't the marker for what someone knows or is capable of. Am I still planning on going after it? For now, yes. But THIS year, instead of just looking into schools and formal programs, I'm keeping my mind and my heart open to other ways I can learn... and then share what I know with the world. It's an exciting time for sure! x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
One of my goals for this year.. Least scrolling, One of my goals for this year.. Least scrolling, more reading. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“– I'm also on a personal mission to read more of the classics, alongside different perspectives of history that I may not have seen before. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a long flight. โœˆ๏ธ x Brittany @youreverydayhistorian
